Out of the Box: A Devised Peice
POP STAR BARBIE
A group of Barbie dolls come to life, each representing different stereotypes and societal expectations. As they come to life, they express dissatisfaction with their roles and the limitations imposed on them. The Barbies initially embrace the various roles assigned to each other, but ultimately reject them, realizing their worth beyond the confines of the Barbie box. The play confronts themes of identity, societal pressure, and the commodification of beauty and perfection. (New Play Exchange)
